Walking In Essex (1937)
From Tether 1, page 85:
“This is the record of a walking tour in England during August of last year, made in the general hope of enjoyment rather than the particular expectation of gastronomic pleasures. Our primary aim was to see a part of England that none of us knew well, and I not at all. But adventures notoriously wait for the adventurous; and we were rewarded for our pertinacity by several experiences sufficiently out of the common to justify the hope that they may interest others.”
